SHRI JALARAM JAYANTI UTSAV

SHRI JALARAM JAYANTI UTSAV is celebrated on 7th day after Diwali every year.i.e.(Kartik Sud 7).This day is celebrated in such a way as we are celebrating Diwali for the second time. All of them are invited irrespective of caste, community or religion. This function is celebrated in a small town called Virpur in Saurashtra (The birthplace of Shri Jalaram Bapa) and in the same way it is celebrated at Shri Jalaram Temple- Mulund also.The birthday of Shri Jalaram Bapa is also celebrated in many cities of Maharashtra and Gujarat as well as some countries of the world i.e. Governor of Illinois state near Chicago in America has given permission to celebrate 9th July as 'Jalaram Divas' and Leicester city in England where also Shri Jalaram Temple is there. Shri Jalaram Temple at Mulund where Shri Jalaram Jayanti Utsav is celebrated since 1955 and from 1980 it is celebrated on a large scale. MANDAL celebrates the function for the whole day starting with Shobha yatra at 7:00 a.m. from Shri Jalaram Temple and goes through main areas and ends at Shree Kutchi Lohana Mahajanwadi- Mulund. At 9:00 a.m. Aarti is sung with Thaar and in which many devotees take part. After Aarti at 10:00 a.m. Mahaprasad starts in which Gurpapdi,Khichdi Kadi,Sev Boondi, Potato Sabji and Chas is served. Arrangement for Mahaprasad for Gents at Pawani Hall- Mahajanwadi and for Ladies and Children alongwith tiffin service at Saraswatwadi is done and approximately 15000 devotees take Mahaprasad.'Aankoot' (56 Bhog) is also kept for Darshan near Shri Jalaram Temple (Mahajanwadi). Many devotees come for Darshan and it is kept open for the whole day at both places (Shri Jalaram Temple and Mahajanwadi).Aarti is also sung at 8.00 p.m. In the evening this UTSAV is celebrated in mostly all societies of Mulund alongwith Prasad. This year it is 225th year of Shri Jalaram Jayanti Utsav so MANDAL has decided to celebrate on a very large scale at Richardson and Cruddas ground where total function will be celebrated for the whole day. On the previous day there will be program of bhajans in the evening.
